#WWW Wednesday #8

This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It’s open to all to participate. Why not join in and let us know what’s on your reading list this week…

To join in, just answer the following three questions…WWW Wednesdays

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I am Currently Reading…

#1 The Crown by Kiera Cass – The saga continues in the Selection series.  I consider this book #2 after The Heir which focuses on Queen America and King Maxon’s daughter, Eadlyn, as she continues the Selection series while taking over the throne for her father.

#2 The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan – I am still reading this one with my youngest.  We love this time together and honestly even though I have now read this three times, I am still learning some new.

I Recently Finished…

25735346Hurricane Kiss by Deborah Blumenthal – This was perfect to keep me going on my reading rollercoaster.  I don’t think this will win many awards, but Blumenthal writes a fast paced story with the mystery of River’s past intertwined with some romance .  I loved the tension between the two main characters – an obvious spark of forbidden lust – as they seek shelter in the midst of Hurricane Danielle. Jillian and River learn things about themselves and each other that they may have never discovered had they not been thrown together in this storm.  The author brings these completely opposite characters together and gives hope that they will survive and their destiny can change. If you are a fan of Simone Elkeles or Colleen Hoover, check out Hurricane Kiss!

I plan to read next…

Every Exquisite Thing by Matthew Quick – Students LOVE his books, so when this popped up in NetGalley I requested it.  This summary from Goodreads also tweaked my interest:

26245098Nanette O’Hare is an unassuming teen who has played the role of dutiful daughter, hardworking student, and star athlete for as long as she can remember. But when a beloved teacher gives her his worn copy of The Bugglegum Reaper–a mysterious, out-of-print cult classic–the rebel within Nanette awakens.

As she befriends the reclusive author, falls in love with a young troubled poet, and attempts to insert her true self into the world with wild abandon, Nanette learns the hard way that rebellion sometimes comes at a high price.

  1. Sometimes, rereading a childhood book is so eye opening. Glad you’re enjoying Riordan after a few readings. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
